DeployEMDS: Data and AI for urban mobility planning

Data is a key enabler for the development and deployment of AI. Data spaces aim to facilitate secure, trusted, and sovereign access to, sharing of, and use of data. In this session, we will explore how DeployEMDS, a data space project focused on mobility, makes it possible to orchestrate and optimise metropolitan mobility planning in Barcelona through the shared use of data and AI.

Julià Vicens (he/him) is Head of Computational Social Sciences Research at Eurecat’s Data Science and Big Data unit. His research focuses on applying computational methods to understand complex social phenomena, including human behaviour, information diffusion, mobility, and citizen participation. He leads and contributes to national and European research projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital democracy, and participatory innovation. His work has been published in leading scientific journals and presented at international conferences. Julià is also an Associate Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona.
