Over the past three decades, AI has evolved from a research curiosity into the driving force reshaping how we live and work. In this keynote, Ariadna draws on her own journey—from NLP research to leading AI at IBM Watson and Twitter, and later founding Alinia.ai—to explore where we are heading. As AGI shifts from speculation to becoming a tangible roadmap, the pressing question is no longer whether our organizations will change, but how. Ariadna will share a practical perspective on how to prepare for AGI responsibly while maintaining human oversight and control.

Joan Mas is a Telecommunications engineer (UPC) and MBA (Webster University). He worked for 10 years at the European Space Agency, the Netherlands, in the ENVISAT and METOP projects, Earth observation satellites. From 2000 to 2008 he developed at NTE S.A., equipment for the International Space Station and life support systems for manned space missions. Until 2024 he was Director of the Digital Technologies Division at Eurecat, promoting developments in areas such as Data Analytics and Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and others for multi-sector applications. He is currently Scientific Director in the digital field at Eurecat and, from 2021, he is also Director of CIDAI.

With a background in NLP and AI (Phd, CMU), Ariadna led Twitter’s ML Platform and Responsible AI for over 3 years as Sr Director of Engineering. Previously, she was Director of Engineering at IBM Watson (Data & AI) leading a large global organization of AI and software engineers across 5 international labs.
