Content of the 1st edition
Companies such as Open Evidence, Amazon Web Services, Yahoo Labs, ESADE Business School, Carto DB, DIMA Group and others were involved in the first edition of the Congress, where there were 40 speakers.

The first edition of Big Data Congress had a complete theoretical and practical programme where relevant leaders were analysing the main trends in the field of Big Data & Data Analytics, showing the attendee’s new tools to be more agile and competitive. Several success stories were also reviewed.

Francisco Lupiáñez-Villanueva, Co-Founder, Open Evidence
Francisco Lupiáñez-Villanueva is a co-founder of the Open Evidence spin-off of the Open University of Catalonia, where he also works as a professor.

Ricardo Baeza-Yates, Vice President of Research, Yahoo Labs
Ricardo Baeza-Yates has a PhD in Computer Science (University of Waterloo, Canada, 1989). He also has an Engineering degree and two Master’s degrees from the University of Chile.
