Generative AI: it's impact on companies where the limits are

Applications based on generative AI that have been released in recent months have opened up a new scenario in which the boundaries of technology seem to be vanishing. 

In this session, we will talk about the impact that this branch of AI will have on companies and businesses, as well as the potential technological, (Are we getting closer to General AI?) ethical (How can we ensure good use of generative AI?) and legal limits (How are intellectual property issues addressed in the value chain?).

I have been working more than 20 years in technology companies, developing my last 18 years in different Microsoft roles and sectors.

I have been responsible to renew ENS (Esquema Nacional de Seguridad) for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365/Microsoft 365 Education and Dynamics 365, adding new set of products with the highest degree of compliance.

My expertise areas are AI, Data, Cloud Computing, Digital Identity, Innovation, Digital Transformation, People Management and Digital Upskilling/Reskilling.

I have participated in different events (Gartner, Microsoft events) as speaker in my expertise areas and right now I am member of AMETIC. In my role as NTO I am responsible of public and national safety and country digitization plan in Microsoft.

DAVID PEREIRA

Head of Data & Intelligence, EMEAL at NTT DATA

Telecommunication Engineer by the University of Vigo and PDD by IESE Business School. Partner of the Technology Unit at NTT DATA, he is currently responsible for the Data & Intelligence area for EMEAL and the Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence of the NTT Data group worldwide. He collaborates as an external professor in Digital Business Schools such as ISDI, The Valley Digital Business School, where he gives lectures related to Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.
Starting 2020, David is a Founding Editorial Board Member of the Springer Nature AI & Ethics journal, and a Member of the Advisory Board for the AI Ethics Observatory of Catalonia.

ERNESTO RINCÓN

Business Innovation & Transformation Lead, Solution Advisory EMEA South at SAP

With over twenty years professional experience with focus on Digital Transformation and IT strategy projects. Part of the Business Innvoation Office in EMEA South, a team focused on advising top executives on Business Transformation and new business models. Main role is advising C level executives across South Europe countries and industries to help them understand the impact of innovation in their business models Guiding companies to create the strategic vision and roadmap to lead in Digital Transformation. Previously to SAP, Ernesto worked at Microsoft, in large customers sales division, with focus on Cloud productivity, Digital Workplace, Innovation and Data Analytics. Developed disruptive business models and innovation value propositions for corporations around Cloud Transformation, Advanced Analytics and Intelligent Applications.

MARCO ORELLANA

Manager of the CIDAI

Industrial Engineer, Master in Project Management. World finalist of the “Intel Global Challenge” with the business plan for a new technology-based company, which was carried out at the University of Berkeley, California, United States.

In his professional career he has been a founding partner of a software quality analysis technology-based company established in Silicon Valley, United States. Later, he collaborated in a Chilean company that encourages the use of technology in electronic transactions, carrying out strategic planning, management control and project evaluation tasks. Later, he moved to Barcelona to perfect his studies and develop as an International Project Manager in a technology center in Terrassa. Later, he worked as a technology consultant at Eurecat, the main Technology Center in Catalonia. His role was to advise companies and public organizations in technological innovation, from the search for financing alternatives, development of business models, strategic definition, innovation workshops and business collaboration.

Currently, he is Manager of the CIDAI, managing all its lines of work and promoting the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the Catalan ecosystem.
