Presenter

BÁRBARA EISELE

AI Community Manager, DCA (Digital Catalonia Alliance, i2CAT Foundation)

Degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology, with training in Innovation, a Master’s in Communication and Public Relations, and additional studies in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Social Impact. With 10 years of experience managing strategic alliances for the development and implementation of innovative projects.

Speakers

MÒNICA RODRÍGUEZ

Head of the Outpatient Physiotherapy Service, MC Mutual

Graduated in Physiotherapy from EU Gimbernat (UAB) in 1991 and has completed various postgraduate and management courses throughout her professional career. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) in 2009, where she also completed an official Master’s in Digital Health with honors in 2021. She is currently pursuing a PhD in telerehabilitation. Her professional background has two main phases: an initial stage focused on clinical practice in various healthcare institutions, and a second dedicated to management and digital health, leading innovative projects such as the implementation of telerehabilitation.

AI-Assisted Telerehabilitaction in Whiplash-Associated Disorder

In any healthcare treatment, it is essential to seek maximum efficiency without compromising the quality of care. In this presentation, I will explain a pilot project developed in our organization that optimizes the treatment of whiplash syndrome through a combination of physiotherapy and artificial intelligence-assisted telerehabilitation. The project uses a platform that, with a standard camera, detects patient movement in real time using deep neural networks. This enables automatic corrections and objective data to personalize the treatment. The number of in-person sessions was reduced without increasing the duration of temporary disability, with good patient satisfaction. It is a scalable, efficient, and innovative solution.

PAU MOLINAS

CEO, Connecthink

Pau Molinas is an industrial engineer by the ETSEIB and holds a master’s degree from EADA, IESE and INSEAD. He has 40 years of professional experience in R+D, Operations and M&A. He has led international teams as VP at HP, has worked as a business consultant and has been an entrepreneur, investor and mentor of several startups, in the last six years as a partner in Artificial Intelligence startups. His passion is to bring my experience from the corporate, business, startup and governance worlds to the management teams and boards of directors of innovative technology-based companies looking for exponential growth.

High-impact AI projects at GovTech

The presentation will showcase two AI projects recently carried out in the GovTech sector, analyzing the approach to the challenge, the technologies used, the solutions developed and the operational impact and user satisfaction. These two projects are:
1. AI4Justice: AI co-pilot for judges for the drafting of second instance sentences on abusive bank clauses in mortgages. This tool is in the process of being scaled up in certain courts in Catalonia
2. ElMeuGencat: new portal for citizens, from which you can access all the resources of 140+ websites of the Generalitat de Catalunya and receive answers, assistance and suggestions in natural language. Currently in pilot phase.

JUAN B. PEDRO

Cofounder and CTO, Earthpulse

Juan B. Pedro earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, after which he obtained a PhD in Thermal Engineering from the same
university and an MsC in Artificial Intelligence from the Universitat Politècnica de València. He has over 10 years of extensive experience in developing and implementing Artificial Intelligence projects in the field of Earth Observation. In 2020, Juan co-founded Earthpulse with Laura Moreno. His current responsibilities include the technical direction of the company as well as the R&D strategy, including projects for organizations such as ESA.

Artificial Intelligence for Earth Observation

This talk will show how AI techniques—computer vision, geospatial models, and LLMs—turn the torrent of Earth-Observation data into clear, actionable insights. Real success stories will be presented: water-leak detection, landslide early warning, and water-body quality indicators, all with measurable impact. We will also demonstrate how EarthPulse’s platform automates the entire workflow, lowering the expertise required to unlock value. We’ll close with current challenges and next steps to maximise AI’s contribution.

RAMÓN SIEIRA

Senior AI Engineer, SDG Group

Ramón Sieira is an AI Engineer in the International Practice of SDG Group. He specializes in MLOps and LLMOps workflows and has designed platforms that optimize the deployment and management of models in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. His experience on global projects has enabled him to transform complex data into actionable insights, driving strategic decisions through technology.

Real Use Cases with Business and Operational Impact

Organizations across various sectors are using speech analytics to gain a deeper understanding of their customers and optimize key business processes. In this session, we will share real-world implementations of speech analytics systems in production, highlighting the main challenges faced when scaling and how they were addressed. We will show how combining LLM-based technologies with cloud platforms enables the transformation of large volumes of audio into actionable insights for operations, customer service, and strategic decision-making.
